If you’re planning on visiting Queenstown, you’ll be spoilt for choice with seafood and grill restaurants. This beautiful alpine resort overlooks the shores of Lake Wakatipu. With its rugged mountains and stunning views over the lake, you’ll want to spend time exploring. Work up an appetite, then visit some of the many outstanding seafood restaurants. There’s such a large number to choose from; you’d never get round to trying them all. In this article, I’ll be giving you a brief overview of two of the best.
Finz Seafood and Grill Restaurant
Finz seafood grill is situated in the upmarket area of Steamer Wharf, right on the waterfront. It offers some of the best locally caught fish and is also vegetarian and vegan friendly. All ingredients used in making seasonal dishes are sourced from local first-class produce.
Typical seafood dishes include paella, salmon, oysters, yellowfin tuna, and lobster. All locally caught lobsters are served with seasonal vegetables and fluffy, whipped potatoes. If you’re vegetarian, you’ll find tempting dishes, including sweet potato roll, mango maki, and seaweed salad. Finish your meal with one of Finz’s mouth-watering desserts and a bottle of house wine.
Fishbone Bar & Grill
Fishbone Bar and Grill is situated in the centre of Queenstown and has a vibrant, lively atmosphere. It’s similar to an American diner in layout and appearance. You can even sit outside at a pavement table if the weather is warm. All fish are caught locally from the waters off the South island, and dishes include salmon, turbot, and oysters.
Whether you want a light lunch or a romantic evening meal watching the sunset, you’ll be sure to find a seafood restaurant to suit your budget. With a well-stocked lake, it’s no surprise that you’ll find some of the freshest and tastiest fish dishes on offer. Whether you enjoy rainbow trout, salmon, or other fish found in the freshwater lake, you won’t be disappointed.
